HEALTH and care professionals will be celebrated at a special awards event, and you can send in your nominations now.
The South Wales Argus Health and Care Awards presentation evening will take place at Chepstow Racecourse on October 18, and one of the categories is the Volunteer of the Year Award.
Last year's winner was Alan Hiatt, who volunteers at Hafan Deg ward at the Ty Sirol unit at the County Hospital in Griffithstown.
He began volunteering after the death of his wife, who was cared for at the hospital and he has raised in the region of £10,000 for the unit.
He said: "It was very humbled that I was nominated for the award.
"It was a fantastic surprise to win and I had a great evening.
"The photo of me with the award is in the hospital and people recognise me. It is good for the ward because people remember it and they recognise me out in public."
If you know someone who deserves some recognition then you can nominate individuals and organisations in the 15 categories.
Nominating someone, or an organisation, in any of the categories is free and can be done by filling in the simple online form at southwalesargus.co.uk/healthandcareawards.
