A PROJECT launched last weekend is off to a flying start.
'Seeding the Streets' is a volunteer based project, run by Maindee Unlimited and Incredible Edible organisers, aiming to improve green spaces in Maindee, that launched on Saturday.
One of the organisers, John Stone, said: "Interested volunteers of all age groups came along to find out how they can be a part of this exciting new project to create thriving community gardens and make space for wildlife.
"Attendee's shared their ideas and aspirations about how best to improve Maindee's green spaces and gave their views on what aspects to include in the design of the community gardens.
"There was lots of positive feedback, which will influence the future design and development of these spaces."
They will now meet at Maindee Library between 2pm and 4pm on September 29 to finalise plans.
New volunteers, of all ages and abilities, are welcome to attend.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to meet like minded people, enjoy some light exercise, learn new gardening skills and be part of something that has lasting benefits for the community," added Mr Stone
