WALES have been warned that Fiji's big guns will be back for their crunch World Cup pool game in Nantes on Saturday.
Fiji rested many of their big guns against Australia who cruised to a 55-12 victory yesterday.
Flanker Ace Ratuvou insisted: "We are in a good position to go from here to play Wales. It will be a do-or-die game come the weekend we should be all right.'' And Wallabies captain George Gregan, fresh from playing against both Wales and Fiji, expects the islanders to cause a stir, especially if the temperatures remain high.
"It will be very, very fierce. I think it will be really tight game. If it is hot again the Fijians will certainly enjoy that,'' said Gregan.
Fiji will have support from all quarters, with Australia winger Lote Tuqiri cheering on his place of his birth.
"I will be watching them against Wales. They have a chance to knock them over,'' said Tuqiri, a former Fiji rugby league captain. "I will be flying the Fiji flag in the room.'' Wales coach Gareth Jenkins expects to have captain Gareth Thomas available after he had originally feared he would be ruled out of the tournament after damaging his ribs in a late tackle from Stirling Mortlock during Wales' defeat by Australia.
But both Thomas and Sonny Parker, who injured his groin in the same game, have made good progress and Jenkins is confident they will be in contention for the Nantes showdown.
Jenkins said: "Gareth and Sonny have been going really well. It seems that - like it's been for most of the tournament - I'll be able to pick from a full squad.
"I have a good idea about the team for next Saturday. You need to spend as much time as possible during the week with everyone knowing who's playing.
"There may be players we select who won't be 100%.'' The only player unlikely to be available is prop Adam Jones, who has been hobbling around on crutches for nearly a week after a blood vessel burst and leaked on to a nerve in his foot.
