DRATA NEWS: On Saturday, October 27, 2007, we are holding another evening's entertainment or rather Old Thyme Music Hall. This will be held in the Duffryn Community Centre at 7pm and tickets are now on sale.
These will be in big demand, so please get your tickets as soon as possible.
Last year we held two pantomimes and they were very successful, but some children were unable to attend.
This year we are having an evening family pantomime on Monday, December 10, again at Duffryn Community Centre.
These tickets will be on sale after October 30, so if you need tickets please call as soon as possible.
POLICE NEWS: We were very pleased to have the police on duty for a whole weekend with regard to the off- road bikes. Some were seized and warnings were given, and we have had a difference in noise and anti- social behaviour since this happened.
Residents who experience this type of anti-social behaviour should contact Duffryn Housing Office and the police with a description of the bike and rider, time and date.
DUFFRYN HIGH SCHOOL: On Wednesday, September 19, Councillor Trevor Watkins attended Duffryn High School awards night for outstanding students for 2006/2007.
The mayor and mayoress, Councillor Alan Morris and Mrs Jane Morris, attended, and the guest speaker was Sara Edwards, from BBC Wales.
Many awards were made and the number of students who were able to attend were delighted with the certificates and cups that were presented. Well done!
Jean Watkins
