THIEVES smashed into a shop-front window in Blaenavon in the early hours of Friday morning, and attempted to steal a cash machine.
Gwent Police have reported a "white vehicle" was used in the incident at the Co-operative store on Ivor Street, at approximately 2am on February 1. The thieves made off with cash stolen from the shop-front ATM, which they had previously tried to pull out of its casing.
On social media, one member of staff posted a picture of the wreckage the thieves left behind.

Several windows had been smashed and the protective grating behind the glass had been buckled.
The shop was closed temporarily as a result of the incident.

In an appeal to the public for information, Gwent Police said: "Officers are now investigating, and would like to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have any information on those responsible to contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting og number 43 01/02/19.
"Alternatively, you can send a direct message to our Gwent Police Facebook or Twitter social media accounts, or you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111."
