TICKETS for Newport County AFC's FA Cup clash with Manchester City on Saturday have sold out - with some fans queuing at Rodney Parade from the early hours of this morning.
The Exiles are on a spectacular cup run, having beaten former Premier League champions Leicester City 2-1 in the third round, holding off Middlesbrough to a 1-1 draw in the fourth, and going through to the fifth round with an astonishing 2-0 victory on Tuesday, winning the chance to take on Man City at Rodney Parade on Saturday.

County season ticket holders, trust members, community shareholders, volunteers, Clwb Spytty members, and academy scholars and players were able to snap up tickets on Friday after being given priority, with those who bought tickets to Tuesday’s victory over Middlesbrough able to join the queue this morning.
It was reportedly already 100 strong by 5.20am this morning. And by about 8.40am hundreds were waiting, with the line snaking around three sides of the ‘cabbage patch’.
The club later announced the game had sold out.

Demand was so high this morning that stewards reportedly had to lock the gates to Rodney Parade, saying the number of those queuing meant not everyone would be able to get tickets.

Meanwhile, Gwent Police have been seen patrolling the area around the stadium, placing parking tickets on illegally parked vehicles.
More than 8,000 match tickets were allocated to County fans, and additional seating is being installed ahead of Saturday’s game.
