A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Newport County AFC fan is said to be “over the moon” after Exiles players and staff shared a new Exiles-inspired chant he posted to Twitter.
Lennon Jones, a pupil at Ysgol Gymraeg Ifor Hael, in Newport, worked in the names of his favourite County players to the tune of The Archies' hit song ‘Sugar, Sugar’.
His mother, Claire Jones, posted a video of his version on Twitter, and it has since been viewed more than 15,500 times.

Mrs Jones said: “His father’s a County fan, and Lennon has been going since he was about three. He also plays for the academy.
“On Sunday, his dad was listening to some old football chants, and Lennon decided that he wanted to make his own one.
“He got out a programme and checked what names he could use.”
The song features one of Lennon’s favourite players, Padraig Amond, as well as Mickey Demetriou and Antoine Semenyo, who recently returned to Bristol City.
All three players, as well as star striker Jamille Matt and the official Newport County AFC account, have responded to the video.
“He’s over the moon,” said Mrs Jones.
“He was so excited that all the players and the club had seen it and were retweeting it.
“He missed a lot of it initially as he had gone to bed, but when he woke up and saw how many times it had been viewed, he couldn’t wait to get in to school and tell everyone.”

The family have tickets to County’s glamour FA Cup tie against Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday, and Mrs Jones said it would be amazing if Lennon’s song was sung on the terraces.
“It would be amazing if everyone was singing it,” she said.
“He’s said that he’s got a few more chants in the pipeline.
"Dan Butler is another one of his favourite players, but he couldn’t fit him in to this song.”
