A FAMILY fun run is returning to the city centre, ahead of Newport’s popular half-marathon.
The Friars Walk Family Fun Run is back in Newport, the day before The Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon.

Both events are to raise money for St David’s Hospice Care, which provides palliative care to more than 3,200 patients and their families each year.
The Friars Walk Family Fun Run will be on March 2, from 2pm. This family fun run is suitable for all ages and abilities, with pushchairs welcome. Runners under eight must have adult supervision at all times.

The 2km course starts and finishes at University of South Wales’ Newport city campus, near the footbridge. Registration on the day is from 12.30pm.
Entrants are welcome to run, walk, jog, or skip the route, with fancy dress welcome but not mandatory.
On completion, each racer will win a commemorative medal. Entry is just £5 with money going to St David’s Hospice Care, due to Friars Walk’s sponsorship.
