AN INQUEST into the death of a 38-year-old who was killed after driving the wrong way on the motorway has been opened and adjourned.
Senior coroner Wendy James was told today in Newport that Georgina Elaine Coombs, from Cwmbran, was travelling in a silver-coloured Vauxhall Astra eastbound on the westbound carriageway in the evening of Friday February 22.
The car later collided with a BMW 200 metres west of Junction 26, it was said.
Ms Coombs was pronounced dead at the scene.
The provisional cause of death was said to have been multiple injuries.
The inquest was adjourned for three months.
