RUTH Jones has been sworn in as Newport West's new MP.
Labour's Mrs Jones was elected to succeed Paul Flynn in a by-election on Thursday with 39.6 per cent of the vote.
And she entered Parliament this afternoon to be sworn in.

Ruth Jones is sworn in as Newport West's new MP
Mrs Jones was accompanied into the House of Commons by Newport East MP Jessica Morden and Torfaen's Nick Thomas-Symonds before taking the oath and signing the Parliamentary register.
She then shook hands with speaker of the house John Bercow and had a brief conversation with him before taking her seat as Newport West's MP for the first time.
