WALES legend Gareth Bale and pop superstar Pink have thrown their support behind a campaign to find a young boy a bone marrow donor.

Thousands of people have so far signed up as bone marrow donors for six-year-old Marley Nicholls, who is battling the rare blood condition aplastic anaemia.

Real Madrid star Bale took to Twitter to urge people to sign up to the Anthony Nolan register.

He tweeted:

And Pink re-tweeted a tweet from the campaign account @marrowformarley which said:

Mum Shaney Truman said: "It is amazing we are still reaching new people every day - especially Pink and Gareth Bale.

"They have a platform to seriously help people.

"I have no doubt their re-tweets will save people's lives and hopefully lots of people joined the register after seeing them."

Marley's family were recently told that a donor is needed within three months.

Despite signing up more than 40,000 people to the world-wide register under the Marrow for Marley banner, they are still waiting for a match for Marley.

Of those 40,000 registered, only seven matches have been found for others in need of a transplant.
