NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn has warned his players that the job is not yet done after a fantastic 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic at Rodney Parade.
Goals from Mark O’Brien and Robbie Willmott sealed the three points against the Latics, moving County up to seventh and into the League Two play-off places for the first time since December 22.
The Exiles know that another win at Morecambe on Saturday will secure a play-off spot.
But Flynn is taking nothing for granted ahead of the final day showdown at the Globe Arena.
“We’ve got 70 points now, which is a fantastic achievement, and one win does it,” he said.
“But I’m not getting carried away at all. I’ve been in the game too long.
“I know that if you get complacent and think you’ve cracked it, you get quickly reminded with a slap in the face.
“I’ve told he players ‘don’t you think anything is done’ but we are down to one game and we’ve got to make sure we’re at our best at Morecambe.
“They are a team in form. They’ve got and excellent manager and assistant manager in Jim Bentley and Ken McKenna.
“The job they do, year in and year out, I think is fantastic. And I know what kind of men they are – they’ll want to finish on a high as well.”
