The 82-year-old woman who died in a road traffic collision has been named by Gwent Police as Patricia Gibson.

Ms Gibson was from the Cefn Fforest area of Blackwood.

The collision happened on Usk Way, Newport at approximately 9.55am on Saturday May 4.

Specialist officers are continuing to support her family at this difficult time and they have asked for their privacy to be respected.

The driver of the HGV, a 45 year old man from the Bedfordshire area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.
