NEIGHBOURHOOD TALKS: The St Julian's neighbourhood meeting will be held on Thursday, October 25, at 7.30pm, at St Julian's Methodist Church. All welcome.
EVESWELL SCHOOL:The school was pleased to receive Tesco vouchers last term which enabled it to order two new cameras, a digital microscope, a DVD burner, drum keyboard and some equipment for programmable toys.
These bonuses benefit every area of the school.
The school also received games equipment from Sainsbury vouchers and is now collecting Tesco sports vouchers and would be glad to receive as many as possible.
COMING EVENTS: The school holds its health and fitness week from Monday, October 22.
The nursery harvest festival will be on Tuesday, October 23, at 10am and 1.30 pm.
The infants' harvest festival is on Thursday, October 25, at 10 am and the junior harvest festival is Friday, October 26, at 1.45 pm. The junior festival is in the school hall while the nursery and infants festivals will be at St John's Church.
POLICE SURGERIES: St Julian's- Tuesday, October 30, 9 am - noon, Scout hut, Bank Street, Beechwood, Tuesday, October 30, 5 -7 pm, Beaufort Centre.
ADVANCED DATE: Maindee (Newport) Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society will be holding its 56th Chrysanthemum Show at Beechwood Park Presbyterian Church on Thursday, November 1, from 2.30 - 6.30pm.
Apart from the beautiful blooms there will be the usual bric-a-brac stall, raffle and refreshments. Admission free. For further details ring 255 774.
