GAER BAPTIST CHURCH: The Reverend Ruth Wood has asked me to let the Gaer know about some new activities that are running in the church.
C Club is looking for new members. It is a mixture of games, free play, Bible stories, music and crafts.
This is aimed at children aged four-seven years.
They meet every Friday, 6pm-7pm, and each session is £1.25 per child. (£1 each for two or more from the same family).
Contact Reverend Ruth Wood on 01633 222073, or just bring your child along on a Friday.
Poppets, this is a new group for babies, toddlers (up to three years) and their parents, grandparents or carers.
This group started on Monday, October 1, from 1.30pm-3pm weekly.
A chance to chat and make new friends while the little ones play. The cost is £1 per week.
Please note, numbers are restricted because of space so please telephone to re-register.
For new residents, Gaer Baptist Church is situated in Shakespeare Crescent.
It is a red brick building opposite the Gaer pond. If there is one thing of which I am certain, it is the warm welcome given to all who attend for any of the activities.
PARKING: It has become much easier to find a place to park when visiting the Gaer shops since the introduction of white lines.
Much praise is due to our local councillors for the speedy response to a request for better parking facilities.
However, it would appear that nothing will stop motorists parking on the yellow hatched lines that indicate wheelchair access.
It seems that they believe that it is for disabled motorists.
On the other hand, there are those who are arrogant enough to believe that they have a right to park anywhere, and do so.
