TWO people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle accident on the A4049 in Caerphilly, which witnesses said sent one car "through a garden fence'.
The road is now closed in both directions from Bryn Road / Crown Lane to Hawtin Park.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
A witness said: "The accident looked quite bad.
"One of the cars has gone through someone's fence.
"It looks like they have managed to hit each other head on when going round the corner.
"The ambulances have left now, but the road is still closed."
A Gwent Police spokesman said: "At approximately 6.20am this morning, we received reports of a road traffic collision close to the Crown Roundabout, linking the A472 and A4049 near Pontllanfraith.
