Everyone is welcome to attend this very interesting presentation Fun at Quiz Night: The Sardis Community Centre is holding a quiz night on Friday, November 2, at 7pm in the Ambulance Hall, Ynysddu.
The questions will be on general knowledge and it should be good for a laugh, with a cup of tea thrown in. Many raffle prizes. Tickets £2 School vandalism: I was looking forward to doing a lovely report on the new poly tunnel erected in the Ynysddu Primary School allotment.
However, instead I am reporting an incident of vandalism - local children have thrown stones at the tunnel and some have broken the plastic.
Chris Ward, the school clerk says the children worked hard to get the tunnel ready for planting with early vegetables and they cannot understand why anyone would want to cause damage.
Julie Protheroe, head teacher says the school has had wonderful support from the allotment holders and if anyone finds out the names of the perpetrators they will be reported.
The school is in the process of fitting CCTV cameras so any future attacks can be monitored.
Mums and Dads - do you know what your children are doing in the evenings? Help nip this vandalism in the bud now, before more damage is done.
In the pink at fundraiser: The Cwmfelinfach Community Church Craft Club held a charity craft and coffee event recently.
The church and the garden leading to it were beautifully decorated with pink flowers carefully crafted by children and members of the church and community centre.
Visitors could make a pink tag in remembrance of loved ones lost to breast cancer or to celebrate a recovery.
The tags were beautifully crafted and each had a special personal message.
All the tags were then hung on a tree and displayed in the church.
A sum of £700 was raised and all proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Wales.
