THE Usk to Caerleon road has been re-opened following a fallen tree incident this morning.
The road had been closed in both directions because of the fallen tree near Llanbradoc.
A Monmouthshire County Council spokeswoman said the tree had been partially removed by a local farmer, but that there was "a lot more work" needed to make the road safe.
Traffic management is in place and there will be short periods when traffic has to be stopped throughout the day, she added.
The council had earlier said the closure was affecting school buses to Caerleon Comprehensive School.
Newport Bus said this morning that its number 60 service was also affected by the incident, though it is unknown at present whether the service is still experiencing delays.
