A CRASH involving two cars is blocking a lane in Wharf Road, Newport, on the approach to the George Street Bridge.
Both vehicles have sustained considerable damage to their fronts, and have hit the iron fence separating the road from the pavement.
The incident happened at the junction with Phillip Street, and debris is scattered over the road and pavement.

The police and a recovery vehicle are at the scene.
Traffic passing in Wharf Road is coping well, but there are delays fro drivers atempting to come from the Phillip Street and Jeffrey Street junctions.
