PLAID Cymru leader Adam Price is self-isolating after his son developed symptoms of coronavirus.
"I am now self-isolating for 14 days after my son showed Covid-19 symptoms," he said.
It comes as the Government announced strict new social guidelines and said that anyone with lives with a family member or friend who displays symptoms should also self-isolate for 14 days.
Mr Price, 51, said he "will continue to work from home" and added that he encourages "all to follow new social distancing guideline to protect ourselves and loved ones".
"Difficult months ahead, but we will get through it by supporting each other."

Mr Price also called for final year medical students to be "fast-tracked" through their courses.
He warned that hospitals will soon be "overwhelmed" with coronavirus patients.
"With hospitals soon to be overwhelmed with coronavirus patients needing urgent medical care, the critical care capacity of our hospitals must be urgently addressed.
"We need designated and isolated Covid-19 wards in every district general hospital around Wales, and to convert disused wards to ensure we have sufficient capacity.
"Private hospitals, field hospitals, hotels and hostels must also be brought into play to help with capacity."
