A JUNIOR football club is continuing to show their community spirit – despite the end of their season coming early.
Raglan Junior Football Club usually run a kitchen on match days to help raise funds for the club. With the coronavirus pandemic bringing the season to an early close, the club team has donated all their leftover stock to a Newport group helping the homeless.
Club chairman Owen Batty said: “We as a club have received so much support from across the community over many years and feel its important to give back and help when we can. Our club secretary Katherine Hibbert made us aware of a charity in Newport called Helping Care Team – Newport City Homeless Project who are giving out packed lunches to people who are homeless in the city.”

HCT Newport’s Sophia Afsar said: “We are so delighted to receive this donation from Raglan JFC to help us support people who find themselves homeless in Newport, pulling together as a community is really helpful in these difficult times.”
Raglan Junior Football Club has mixed and girls teams ranging from U6 to U13 playing the Monmouthshire Junior League and the South Wales Women and Girls League.
