POLICE have set up a vehicle checkpoint on Malpas Road, Newport - and one of the first cars checked saw a driver arrested.
As part of Gwent Police's efforts to ensure only key workers and those making essential trips are venturing outside of the home, the force today set up a checkpoint on the popular road.
One of the first cars checked was an "uninsured driver," Gwent Police said.
The driver then "failed a drugwipe" and was "arrested".

It comes as the force's Newport Central neighbour team have been "out patrolling key areas".
They posted on social media: "Good to see people adhering to the restrictions."
