A 90-YEAR-OLD man - whose health had been in decline - died after suffering a fall at his home.
Edwin Askew, from Fairwater, Cwmbran, died at Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital while he was being treated for his injuries.
The Yorkshire-born retired salesman’s death was recorded as an accident following an inquest at Newport Coroner’s Court.

Senior coroner for Gwent, Caroline Saunders, said: “Edwin Askew was a 90-year-old gentleman whose health had recently been in decline.
“This increased frailty led to a fall at his home on 8 December 2019, at which time he sustained a cerebral bleed.
“Sadly the effects overwhelmed him and he died in the Royal Gwent Hospital on 9 December 2019.”
