Here's what you had to say:
Again a recent photo from the "No Waiting" sign on the post. These are the public toilets on the bend of Commercial Road and Alexandra Road. These toilets had been closed for many years but have been re-opened in a different guise and given a new lease of life as a theatre. The church in the background is St Michael's - long since demolished as are the houses in the view and the sites re-developed. On this corner was the second of the "Iron Gates" - level crossing of the railway line into Courtybella Terrace (the other crossing was at Capel Street). Pill was a hive of activity with the docks and engineering works, sadly long gone. Just behind the camera was Jan Preece's wonderful collection of items from the past and his "Quiet Woman's Café" - sadly he had to leave the old chapel as it was wanted for re-development - a development that never took place.
