SISTERS from Newport are fundraising for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board after being inspired by Captain Tom Moore’s efforts and that of key workers.

Ellie and Abigail Keohane decided to try and ride 26 miles in a week around Glan Llyn, Newport - but by day six they had already reached more than 49 miles. They set themselves a target of £30 and have so far raised over £1,200, which has included donations from Olympic Champion Joanna Rowsell and UAE 7’s rugby plater Nail Statham.

Ellie, 8, and Abigail, 6, are daughters of key workers themselves – dad Jonathan is a Head Teacher at Roath Park Primary School and Mum Katie is a Team Manager for the Pobl Group.

The girls are also using their fundraising towards their Rainbow and Brownie badges and had recently represented their groups at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
