A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and is in a critical condition following a crash in Newport yesterday evening.
The man in his 40s was on a bicycle on Malpas Road when it happened - and Gwent Police believe there was more than one person on the bike at the time of the incident.
They are asking that anyone who was driving in the area around the time - the Welsh Ambulance Service was called at 5.10pm and Gwent Police at 5.15pm - to check their dashcam footage.
The main A4051 Malpas Road remained closed for more than three hours, from the roundabout at before junction 26 of the M4 to Bettws Lane.
The injured man was taken to the University Hospital Wales in Cardiff with serious injuries and he remains in a critical condition. The Wales Air Ambulance was involved in the response.

Gwent Police officers are keen to speak to the driver of a yellow hatchback-type vehicle that was in the area, as they believe they may be able to help with enquiries.
