A MAN who carried out two assaults at a busy nightclub has escaped an immediate prison sentence.
Daniel Evans, 30, of Gelli Deg Street, Maesycwmmer, near Blackwood, tried to hit one of his victims with an uppercut at Cardiff’s Tiger Tiger nightspot.
He pleaded guilty to assault by beating against Leigh Martin and George Harding after initially denying the offences.
Cardiff magistrates heard how had tried to “uppercut one of the men in the busy nightclub but it thankfully missed”.

Evans was represented by Ed Mitchard and the court was told the defendant’s partner “needs expert specialist medical treatment in a London hospital and he has two young children who he cares for”.
He also had no previous convictions for violence.
Evans was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, and must complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
The defendant has to pay Mr Martin £500 in compensation and £100 to Mr Harding.
He also has to pay £85 costs.
Tiger Tiger in Cardiff is closing its doors after more than 15 years in business.
The club, on Greyfriars Road in the city centre, confirmed in March it has been sold to another company, the Shoreditch Bar Group.
