A THUG with a history of violence has been jailed for a serious assault.
Dylan Coffin, 26, formerly of Church Street, Newport, was locked up for six months by the city’s magistrates.
The defendant pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm on Alton Webbe and a public order offence.
The incidents happened last year on October 19 and December 22 respectively, both occurring in Newport.
The court heard that the assault was “aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending”.

Earlier this year, he was sent to prison up for an attack at McDonald's in Newport city centre.
He was jailed for 16 months on that occasion after he admitted causing actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.
Those offences were committed on High Street on January 19.
