AN AWARD-WINNING restaurant in Torfaen will re-open on Friday as a foodhall.
The Gate, on Caerleon Road, Llanfrachfa, has been transformed in preparation for people changing their eating habits in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new foodhall will feature a butchers, fish counter and bakery, and - after given the green light by the Welsh Government - will still serve food, including from its new pizza station.

A statement on the restaurant's Facebook page read: "We have really enjoyed making this shop and we personally think that the whole of the UK will change its eating habits slightly and more people who previously ate out a lot and didn't have time to cook will want to experiment with lots of different foods and ingredients.
"So we have made the decision to extend our deli operation into the whole of the restaurant, it will be a complete foodhall operation with an extensive new fish counter, butchery department and new parts like a crepe counter, bakery section, rotisserie wall, pizza station, desert island, taster stations, wine and spirit cellar and other goodies.
"The bar area will be restaurant seating area and also a few tables in the reception area.
"We hope to welcome you all into the new gate foodhall and steakhouse very soon."
The foodhall opens at 9am on Friday, June 12.
