A MAN was warned he could be going to jail after he admitted his role in a brawl at a Gwent pub.

Liam Drew pleaded guilty to committing affray at the Six in Hand in the Croesyceiliog area of Cwmbran last summer.

The 25-year-old’s sentence was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

At Cardiff Crown Court, Judge David Wynn Morgan said all options would be open when the defendant returns on April 27.

Drew, of Nether Court, Greenmeadow, Cwmbran, pleaded guilty to affray.

The offence was committed on August 8, 2020.

The defendant was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Craig Price and assault by beating against Jason Bullimore and Alan Cadwallader.

He pleaded not guilty to these three alleged offences.

Prosecutor Tom Roberts said Drew’s guilty plea to affray was accepted and the other charges would not be pursued.

The court heard how the defendant’s brother Christopher Drew was jailed for eight weeks in connection with the incident.

It was also told that Liam Drew had previous convictions for aggravated burglary, racially aggravated harassment and possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

The defendant, who was represented by Scott Bowen, was granted conditional bail until next month.
