A MAIN road in Chepstow and Monmouth has reopened after a fallen tree was cleared.
The A466 both ways wass closed due to a fallen tree from Forge Road (Tintern) to The Old Farmhouse Mews (Llandogo) at around lunchtime. It has now reopened.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said at the time: "Emergency services are dealing with a fallen tree that is blocking the A466 between Tintern and Llandogo.
"The road is closed and diversions are in place, which may cause congestion.
"Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey."
The force used Twitter to alert drivers that the road has been reopened, saying: "The A466 Between Tintern & Llandogo is now open! Emergency services were dealing with a fallen tree that had blocked the road. Thank you for your patience and understanding while this issue was resolved."
