The December meeting took on a very different form called Sugar and Spice. Annie Hartwright from Billington's Sugar Refinery demonstrated the various products that they sold and how to obtain the best results when using them in cooking.
Each member received a goodie bag of cookery books as well as a bag of their sugar. The evening concluded with a wonderful finger buffet and soft drinks. Many friends of the members came along and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and friendship.
The New Year will start with the usual coffee morning on the first Thursday of the month which is January 3, at 10am. This year it will be held in the home of Liz Barnes in Haven Way when all members are invited.
The following meeting will be held on February 7 at the Mardy Community Hall at 7.15pm when various members will participate, so newcomers are welcome to join in and make new friends.
