Members and friends of the Chepstow Group of Gwent Wildlife Trust met in December to hear Chief Executive Julian Branscombe speak on why the Gwent Levels are so special. They learned of the need to try to protect them from over development, in particular the threat from the M4 Motorway expansion.

The first meeting of 2008 will be on Thursday, 3rd January, and will feature a talk, with video, by Martin Morgan about, "The Tradition of Lave Net Fishing". This is another tradition which is now under threat, so do come along to find out more about it.

The talk will be held at the Chepstow Leisure CentreCommunity Rooms, starting at 8.00pm. All are welcome - members admission £1.50, non-members £2.

Gwent Wildlife Trust Chepstow Group would like to wish all their members and supporters a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
