More youngsters in the Tredegar area will be treading the boards and showing their musical talent after a cash injection into a local theatre.
Kidz-R-Us has received a £62,000 grant from the Assembly-funded Heads of the Valleys initiative to renovate its theatre space. This will hopefully further boost the growing popularity of the centre.
Kidz-R-Us is a non profit-making social enterprise in Park Place Chapel in Georgetown and is already experiencing growing membership.
The grant will allow the centre's performing arts groups to increase the number of shows it presents each year.
With the average profit from each show standing at £1000, founding member Diane Dann is optimistic that the offerings at the venue will be able to increase income even more.
She said: "Receiving this funding from the Heads of the Valleys initiative really is the icing on top of the cake. Our membership has grown substantially from five members in 2000 to just over 250 during 2007 and this money will hopefully lead to more people joining in the New Year."
