SOME parts of Gwent continue to have coronavirus case rates north of 300 cases per 100,000 residents.
The latest weekly figures, published by Public Health Wales, show Hengoed & Maesycwmer has the highest Covid case rate in Gwent at 308.6.
And while numbers have dropped from last week, when two areas had rates of more than 400 cases per 100,000 residents, there are still 14 places across Gwent with more than 200 cases per 100,000 residents in the last seven days.
In the period between July 13 and July 19, St Cattwg in Caerphilly had a rate of 249.8, while Ystrad Mynach & Nelson had a rate of 204.3 The only area of Blaenau Gwent with a rate above 200 cases per 100,000 residents was Ebbw Vale North & Glyncoed (216.9).
Four areas of Newport recorded rates north of 200, including Langstone & Llanwern (282.5).

St Julians & Barnardtown (282.0), Maindee (275.4), and Lawrence Hill (241.6) were the others.
Chepstow South (267.2), Abergavenny North (267.2, and Magor & Rogiet (216.7) all passed the threshold in Monmouthshire, as did Usk, Goytre & Llangybi Fawr (209.8).
Two areas of Torfaen made the list.
They were Trefethin & Penygarn (209.7) and Fairwater & Greenmeadow (200.9).

- Sirhowy: four new cases; a rate of 56.5 cases per 100,000 people (up from fewer than two new cases).
- Rassau and Beaufort: nine new cases; a rate of 127.8 per 100,000 people (up from six new cases).
- Brynmawr: six new cases; a rate of 108.5 per 100,000 people (up from five new cases).
- Blaina and Nantyglo: seven new cases; a rate of 73.8 per 100,000 people (down from ten new cases).
- Ebbw Vale North and Glyncoed: 17 new cases; a rate of 216.9 per 100,000 people (down from 18 new cases).
- Ebbw Vale South and Cwm: 11 new cases; a rate of 129.7 per 100,000 people.
- Tredegar and Georgetown: eight new cases; a rate of 95.8 per 100,000 people.
- Abertillery North and Cwmtillery: fewer than two new cases; a rate of fewer than 23 per 100,000 people (down from six new cases).
- Abertillery South and Llanhilleth: eight new cases; a rate of 113.9 per 100,000 people (down from 16 new cases).
Caerphilly
- Rhymney, Pontlottyn and Abertysswg: 14 new cases; a rate of 157.7 per 100,000 people (up from three new cases).
- New Tredegar and Darran Valley: 11 new cases; a rate of 150.2 per 100,000 people (up from eight new cases).
- North Blackwood, Argoed and Markham: three new cases; a rate of 52.9 per 100,000 people (down from five new cases).
- Aberbargoed and Gilfach: ten new cases; a rate of 164.7 per 100,000 people (up from nine new cases).
- Bargoed: five new cases; a rate of 81.0 per 100,000 people (down from eight new cases).
- St Cattwg: 19 new cases; a rate of 249.8 per 100,000 people (up from 13 new cases).
- Pengam and Cefn Fforest: six new cases; a rate of 77.4 per 100,000 people (down from 15 new cases).
- Blackwood: six new cases; a rate of 81.6 per 100,000 people (down from 13 new cases).
- Oakdale and Pentwyn: seven new cases; a rate of 72.2 per 100,000 people (down from 13 new cases).
- Newbridge: ten new cases; a rate of 149.5 per 100,000 people (down from 16 new cases).
- Hengoed and Maesycwmer: 25 new cases; a rate of 308.6 per 100,000 people (down from 31 new cases).
- Ystrad Mynach and Nelson: 21 new cases; a rate of 204.3 per 100,000 people (up from seven new cases).
- Pontllanfraith: nine new cases; a rate of 104.6 per 100,000 people (up from eight new cases).

- Aber Valley: four new cases; a rate of 58.2 per 100,000 people.
- Caerphilly East: three new cases; a rate of 30.5 per 100,000 people (down from six new cases).
- Caerphilly West: three new cases; a rate of 39.9 per 100,000 people (down from six new cases).
- Caerphilly South: 12 new cases; a rate of 112.3 per 100,000 people (down from 15 new cases).
- Risca West: eight new cases; a rate of 154.3 per 100,000 people.
- Risca East: four new cases; a rate of 63.7 per 100,000 people (down from 11 new cases).
- Machen: fewer than two new cases; a rate of fewer than 37 per 100,000 people.
