PLANS to demolish offices and build flats are being opposed by neighbours in the Gaer ward of Newport.
Members of the planning committee will consider the application by J Otley Rhodes for a site in Bassaleg Road at their meeting tomorrow.
The company wants to build 14 flats with associated parking.
Nearby residents have objected saying it would be an over-development of the site and it would worsen rush hour traffic problems.
Officers are recommending the proposal is turned down as they also feel it would be an over-development and it is a poor standard of design out of keeping with the character, appearance and urban form of the street scene.
