MEMBERS of the Govilon branch of the Womens Institute (WI) have received a grant for over £1,000.
A cheque for £1,275 was presented by Monmouth MP David Davies to officials from the lottery-funded awards for all Wales.
The funding will allow the institute to provide high profile events and to attract new members into the group.
Branch president Jean Wilcock said: "The WI is an important part of our village community and plays a unique role in enabling women to turn their interests into achievements and concerns into campaigns."
