TWO projects to improve services for patients at the Royal Gwent Hospital will be completed during the next couple of months, following delays.
A scheme involving major improvements to the hospital's radiology facilities is now earmarked for completion in March, when a new MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanner is due to be installed.
Problems with ground conditions have delayed this project by four months.
By then, a £4 million modernisation of the main delivery suite in the maternity unit should have been completed.
The finishing touches are currently being added to a project that is providing an extra emergency theatre for caesarian sections, more high dependency beds and other facilities for new mums.
