FORMER King Henry VIII Comprehensive student David Addis donned a top hat to complete a sponsored walk and hold a mad hatters tea party at the top of three mountains.
David, who is studying adventure tourism management at Birmingham college of food tourism, was joined by fellow students Jenny Cowley, Matt Gammon and Sophie Newbold in a bid to raise funds for their third year international expeditions which will see them fly to Tanzania, Kilamanjaro or Ecuador.
The group walked 20 miles, following the Three Peaks Trial route, from Abergavenny to the Blorenge, Gilwern, Sugarloaf mountain and the Skirrid on Sunday.
After setting up a table and chairs at the top of each mountain, the group tucked into three courses of soup, a buffet and well-earned dessert before packing up and continuing to the finish line.
"The Blorenge was very hard work," said David.
"There was frost on the top as the sun was coming up, also where we had our starter of soup."
"We arrived at the Sugarloaf to find it was really busy and we had quite a lot attention from ramblers.
"We finished our dinner withdessert on the Skirrid and raised around £500 towards our expedition."
