A GWENT woman was left with a broken arm, bruised and bleeding after what she claims was a violent assault by her ex-boyfriend.
Jamie Blanchard, 30, of Greenmeadow Terrace, Abertillery denies committing grievous bodily harm with intent on his former girlfriend 27-year-old Keri Pretsell, from Abertillery, on September 30 last year.
Blanchard also denies stealing £60, her mobile phone and charger, and taking her car without consent, and claims he was never at the scene of the attack that day.
A jury at Newport Crown Court yesterday heard Miss Pretsell describe the attack which she alleges Blanchard launched on her, including how he stamped on her arm, breaking it.
The attack is alleged to have happened in the morning of September 30, after Miss Pretsell gave Blanchard a lift to his friend's house.
While there, Blanchard became aggressive, shouting and ramming her head back so it hit the wall.
He followed her to the bathroom where the attack continued said prosecutor Jane Mcdonald and pulling her hair and slapping her. She fell, banging her head on the floor and while on the floor he kicked her legs. He then stamped on her arm and broke it and was said to have put his foot on her neck and pressed down.
Giving evidence Miss Pretsell claimed Blanchard also forced her to give a PIN number for her debit card, took cash from her wallet, her phone and her driver's licence before leaving in his alleged victim's own car.
She walked home where her mother called the police.
But defending, Claire Pickthall questioned Miss Pretsell's actions since the attack, including phoning him when drunk to tell him she loved him, and giving him a lift to court.
