HABERDASHERS' Monmouth School for Girls have appointed Helen Davy to succeed Dr Brenda Despontin as Headmistress of the school.
The Governors appointed Mrs Davy who is currently the head at Cobham Hall in Kent, a girls' boarding and day school.
Mrs Davy graduated with an MA in Modern History from St Catherine's College, Oxford and went on to teach at Roedean.
Sheridan Swallow, Chairman of the Board of Governors said: "Helen Davy is ideally equipped to build on the strong foundations laid down by Brenda Despontin during her eleven years in post. We greatly look forward to welcoming her, and her husband, to Monmouth."
Mrs Davy added: "I am delighted to accept the position of Headmistress of such a splendid school.
"It is quite an honour to think that I shall be only the 11th Headmistress in the School's 115 year history. I am looking forward to moving to Monmouth and the challenges that lie ahead."
