Crickhowell Primary school children were given a chance to take their place in history by naming the town's newest development of affordable homes for local people, thanks to local housing association Melin Homes.
The year six pupils were invited to enter a competition to choose a name which will be put to council planners and hopefully become the address for Melin's development of 24 new homes in Crickhowell.
Jack Booth, 10, was chosen as the winner and if planners agree, the town's newest street will be named by him and will be known as Cae'r Ffynon. The name means Springfield in English and refers to the innovative, green heating system being used on the site, tapping into an underground water source to provide communal heating to each home at economic rates.
The runners up were Alex Moir suggested the name Crug Hwyel View and Owain Salter suggested the name Mynydd Gerdd (Mountain Gardens.)
