TORFAEN council is making improvements to a village "gateway" to reduce anti-social behaviour and make it more attractive.
The work in Pontnewynydd will create a safer car park, reduce anti-social behaviour and provide an improved entrance to Pontnewynydd and the eastern valley.
The work involves new metal rail fencing, upgrading some of the existing paths and a new stone wall to the entrance of the estate.
Vegetation will also be cleared and replaced by new trees, wildflower grass areas, bulbs and amenity grass areas.
The project is funded through the Heads of the Valley programme.
