ANOTHER 15 Covid deaths have been recorded in Wales, the latest figures show.
According to Public Health Wales, the number of deaths in Wales has now risen to 5,797 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of the newly reported deaths, two were recorded in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board area – which covers Gwent.
In total, 998 covid deaths have now been recorded in our area.
Today’s release marks the single highest number of recorded deaths in a single day since mid-February.
And, with deaths typically lagging behind case rates, it is thought that this could continue to rise for some time yet.
