SEPTEMBER is rapidly drawing to a close, and the autumn is creeping in.
Across Newport and Gwent, it seems to be taking slightly longer each morning for the sun to rise, and the evenings are drawing in a little bit sooner each and every day.
But, for anyone hoping for one final taste of summer, you may be in luck.
According to forecasts, Monday is set to be another sunny day – complete with temperatures which wouldn’t look out of place in the middle of the summertime.
Across Newport, there are times today where temperatures could rise to as high as 20C.
Admittedly, it isn’t predicted to be a total scorcher, but with sunshine and clear skies for large parts of the day, it should be perfectly pleasant.
If you can, it might be a good idea to make the most of this, too.

Unfortunately, the rest of the week is shaping up to be slightly cooler, and significantly less sunny.
And, with October just around the corner, it seems unlikely that we’ll get conditions like these for the remainder of the year.
It is a pretty similar situation across Gwent for much of the day today (Monday, September 20).
Blaenau Gwent is less likely to see temperatures hit the 20C mark, while conditions in Monmouthshire appear virtually identical to those in Newport today.
