A POPULAR former pub in Newport has had a planning application submitted to transform the building into affordable housing.
Residents on Nash Road have had letters through their door notifying them of plans to demolish The Victoria pub by Castell Construction, and as part of the planning legislation are carrying out a formal pre application consultation so people can comment on the proposals.
The planning proposal, submitted to Newport City Council, states the plans include: “The demolition of the existing building and construction of 18 affordable apartments with associated parking and amenity areas."
The disused building is located on the junction of Nash Road turning into Somerton Road.
