CAERPHILLY still has the highest amount of cases of Covid per 100,000 people in Gwent, according to data from Public Health Wales.

The new data shows that Caerphilly (85.6) is the only area in Gwent that has recorded more new cases per 100,000 people than the Welsh average (80.3)

Admittedly, the average for Wales is lowered by areas such as Pembrokeshire (28.6) and Anglesey (44.3) but is boosted by areas such as Swansea (119.0) and the Vale of Glamorgan (117.5).

Gwent in total has 452 new cases of the virus, with Caerphilly recording the most with 155.

Newport follows with 114, with Torfaen some way behind with 72.

Blaenau Gwent (56) and Monmouthshire (55) have some of the lowest amounts of new cases in the country.

Wales has recorded 2,576 new cases including the 44 cases from residents outside of Wales.

No more deaths have occurred in Gwent, with the death toll remaining at 1,000.

However, there have been a further seven deaths in Wales.

All data is correct as of 9am on September 20.
