Fresh pictures have been released showing some of the new homes being built on part of the Llanwern Steelworks site in Newport.
Last year, work started on a scheme to build 152 homes at the Heron’s Mead development – part of the large scale redevelopment of the former steelworks site.
And, while the pandemic delayed construction, nearly a quarter of the homes have now been built by Bellway Wales.
New pictures show some of the completed houses at the site – which is due to be completed by the end of 2022.
In total, 152 homes are being constructed here – comprising two, three and four-bedroom properties.
Of these, 73 of the 137 private properties have already been sold, with more set to be brought to market soon.

The final 15 properties are being sold as affordable housing, through rent or shared ownership schemes.
There is also set to be a new children’s playground constructed at the development.
Heron’s Mead is Bellway’s latest development on the former Llanwern steelworks site, following the completion of neighbouring Monks Meadow last year.
What has been said about the latest stage of this development?
Carly Maidment, sales manager for Bellway Wales, said: “As construction work continues at Heron’s Mead, residents are starting to settle into the new neighbourhood that is being created here in Newport.
“With a wide selection of properties available, buyers at various stages of the property ladder have taken advantage of the development’s convenient location on the edge of the city. The strong commuter links via the M4 have proved a particular draw for house-hunters from Bristol seeking a high-quality home and better value for money.
“We have also witnessed a high demand from families due to the extensive choice of well-regarded schools within a two-mile radius of Heron’s Mead, including Glan Lyn Primary which is just a five-minute walk from the development.”
A range of three and four-bedroom houses are currently available at Heron’s Mead, with prices starting at £289,995 for a three-bedroom home, and £409,995 for a four-bedroom home.

What else is happening at the Llanwern site?
The initial Monks Meadow development was completed at Llanwern last year, paving the way for the second housing development to start in early 2020.
But, this is by no means the last.
Last month, another major housing scheme launched here.
The new development, called Locke Gardens, is a partnership between Lovell and Pobl and will create 500 new homes in total.
A £105 million project, it will include a range of 285 two, three and four-bedroom homes available for open market sale through Lovell, as well as 80 one, two, three and four-bedroom affordable homes and 135 shared ownership homes available with Pobl.
