A MOBILE Post Office will be introduced next month covering rural communities around south Wales.
The mobile Post Office will be run by Crumlin Post Office, and will cover areas in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly and Barry.
It will restore service to 12 communities – Gelligaer, Markham, Highlight Park, Colcot Road and Merthyr Dyfan, Gwaelod-y-Garth, Efail Isaf, Pant, Tylorstown, Cross Inn, Cwmaman and Bedlinog.

And a further four communities which are currently served by an outreach service will also switch to the mobile service.
The outreach services for Trinant, Cwm, Llanhilleth and Six Bells will stop from Friday, October 8.
The mobile Post Office services will begin on Monday, October 11.
The mobile service for Gwaelod-y-Garth, Efail Isaf Pant, Trinant, Cwm, Llanhilleth and Six Bells are permanent stops, while the other stops are only temporary whilst the Post Office looks for a permanent solution.
Kaitmay John, network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office service to so many rural communities in Wales.
“We thank the Postmaster for Crumlin for providing this service.”
The Post Office is asking customers to give feedback on the mobile service once it is introduced.
Feedback will close on October 22, and customers can share their views at postofficeviews.co.uk using the code 597458.
The mobile service will follow the following route:
Monday
- 9.45am-10.45am: Tylorstown outside Playground Park, Edmondes Street, CF43 3DD
- 11.10am-12.10pm: Cross Inn, car park adjacent to The New Penny Farthing, Cardiff Road, Llantrisant, CF72 8DG.
- 1.30pm-2.30pm: Gwaelod-y-Garth, Inn Car Park, Main Road, CF15 9HH.
- 1.45pm-2.45pm: Efail Isaf, outside Village Shop, 14 Heol-Y-Ffynnon, CF38 1AU.
Tuesday
- 9.40am-10.40am: Cwmaman, Cwmaman Care Centre car park, Morris Street, CF44 6HW.
- 11.15am-12.15pm: Bedlinog, Gibbons Coach Station Terrace Coach Yard, opposite Station Hotel, High Street, CF46 6TT.
- 12.30pm-1.30pm: Gelligaer, car park behind shopping precinct, Heol Penallta, CF82 8FA.
Wednesday
- 9.10am-10.10am: Trinant, layby outside Trinant Community Centre, Trinant Terrace, NP11 3JH.
- 10.30am-11.30am: Markham, car park, Markham Park, Pantycefn Road, NP12 0RX.
- 12.25pm-3.25pm: Cwm, outside Cwm Library, Canning Street, NP23 7RW.
Thursday
