RECYCLING collections have been missed across Newport due to driver shortages.
Wastesavers, which runs bin and recycling collections in the city, said it had not been able to collect recyling from at least 52 streets yesterday, Wednesday, September 29.
Recently the charity said that collections would be delayed across Newport because they did not have enough drivers to meet demands.

Wastesavers promised that the streets that were missed would be top priority for collection the following day.
Staff are reportedly working longer hours than usual and expect to be catching up on any missed collections on Saturday.
The charity has stressed the shortage is not the result of an outbreak of Covid-19 amongst staff.
A spokesman said: "It’s simply a knock on effect from the general driver shortages across the UK.
"We’ve had drivers leaving and recruiting them is tough right now.
"Unlike most driving jobs, however, we can offer work with a better work / life balance than many jobs out there.
"We are just about keeping up but one driver down can change a whole collection schedule.
"We thank residents for their patience and understanding."
The widely reported fuel shortages in the UK have not impacted Wastesavers.
Wastesavers are a social enterprise that collect the recycling for more than 70,000 households on behalf of Newport City Council.
They also run charity projects that reuse furniture and computers.
